Elementary Week: SNAP

Campers will learn about algorithms, loops, debugging, conditionals, and events in activities and in programming using Snap, the drag-and-drop visual programming language. Engaging activities both on the computer and off will prepare the students to dive into other programming languages moving forward.

Campers will spend 2/3 of the time learning about the programming concepts and applying them using Snap. In addition, they will also spend 1/3 of the time learning about web design and get to create their own web page.

This special session of Computer Camp is designed to meet the needs of younger students entering grades 4-6. Elementary Education students will study the same basic skills as older Computer Camp students in a setting designed to encourage younger students’ enthusiasm for the activities. Our supportive and experienced staff lead fun educational activities and provide supervision that is age-appropriate. Campers survey Web Design and Desktop Publishing. They create a web page on a topic of their choosing and work together to create a Camp Newsletter. Classroom hours, recreational activities, and supervision are adjusted specifically for elementary school students.
