Kayley Pettoruto, MPH — Instructor

Kayley Pettoruto is an 8th grade science teacher in Andover, Massachusetts. She has a Master’s degree in public health from Boston University, in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in community health, Spanish, and child development from Tufts University.  Kayley spent several years as a researcher in public health in a private firm before becoming a teacher. During that time, Kayley also worked at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and at Harvard University School of Public Health. She currently teaches chemistry, weather, genetics and evolution to 8th graders and incorporates social justice into her teaching practice. She also a strong advocate for girls and underrepresented groups in STEM fields.

Kayley deeply enjoys working with students of all ages. Her teaching philosophy is built on the belief that education is the greatest equalizer. She views teaching as a way to inspire the future generation to change the world for the better.

In her spare time, Kayley is a track and field coach and avid runner. Kayley also enjoys spending time with her dog, Hope.
