Matthew Fraser, CEO & Executive Director
Matthew Fraser and several college friends founded Education Unlimited in 1993 with the vision of teaching students critical thinking skills in a fun learning environment. For nearly 20 years Matt has also been the Program Director of the Stanford Debate Society - the inter-collegiate debate team at Stanford University, and the Program Director of the debate program at The Head Royce School of Oakland, one of the nation's leading private schools. Matt has been a speaker at numerous conferences and Universities on issues including free speech rights for students, effective SAT preparation, and the effect of extra-curricular activies in college admissions. During his tenure as Executive Director Education Unlimited has grown from a single program with 34 students in its first year to roughly 40 sessions of camp with about 1,200 students fifteen years later!
Jenny Herbert Creek, CFO & Business Manager
After directing and teaching at Education Unlimited summer programs for many years, Jenny joined Education Unlimited's management team in 2003. Her primary responsibilities are to manage the business and financial operations of the company. Jenny is currently an MBA candidate at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and is an honors graduate of Stanford University, where she received the Deans’ Award for Academic Accomplishment. Jenny’s academic research, focusing on children’s attitudes about reading and math, has been published in the Journal of Applied Developmental Psychology and presented at the meetings of the American Educational Research Association and the National Science Teachers Association.
Beth Schueler, Director of Operations
Beth Schueler has worked at Education Unlimited camps since the summer of 2001. In 2005, Beth joined EU's full-time home office team and now serves as its Director of Operations. Beth earned her B.A. in Studio Art at Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington where she received the highest honors for her thesis exhibition. Throughout college, Beth competed on the national Policy Debate circuit, frequently advancing to elimination rounds. Beth has coached college and high school students in speech and debate and has published instructional materials about public speaking. She currently coaches debate at Berkeley High School in California.
Miriam Greenberg, Curriculum Director
Miriam graduated with honors from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Philosophy and Gender Studies. She earned her M.A. in Philosophy from Stony Brook University, where she focused on ethics and equity in education and the politics of care. Prior to joining Education Unlimited,® Miriam worked with the Women's Prison Education Project to bring higher education opportunities to women's correctional facilities. Miriam has taught Critical Thinking to high school Upward Bound students at S.F. State and serves as a fellow selector for the Oakland Teaching Fellows. At Education Unlimited, Miriam oversees the substance, production, and distribution of educational content for all summer programs.
Kenya Williams, Lead Admissions Coordinator
Kenya earned her B.A. from Howard University in Fine Arts and Journalism and has taken graduate courses in Art History at Dominican University. She has eight years of experience working in education as a teacher and transcriber for the hearing impaired at Redwood High School. Kenya has been a member of the EU team since 1996 and is currently the Admissions Coordinator for the Public Speaking Institute, American Legal Experience, Video Production Camp, Computer Camp, Prep Camp Excel, and East Coast College Tour.
Brendt Uebel, Admissions Coordinator
Brendt graduated with honors form the University of California – Santa Barbara with a B.A. in English and has partially completed an M.A. in Education from the University of California – Berkeley. He lived in and taught English in Dusseldorf, Germany for three years prior to becoming part of the Education Unlimited team. In addition he has spent time working as a Teacher’s Assistant at a Bay Area school for elementary and middle school students with special emotional and learning needs. He currently serves as the Admissions Coordinator for our A+ Critical Thinking Camps and College Admissions Prep Camps.
Carrie Beach, Admissions Coordinator
Carrie earned her B.A. in Theatre Arts and Psychology and received her M.A.T. from Austin College. Prior to moving to the Bay Area in 2006 and joining the full-time EU team in 2008, Carrie taught a variety of courses in Theatre Arts to 9th-12th graders in Texas and most recently has been a researcher in higher education for one of the country's leading non-profit social policy research organizations. She currently serves as the Admissions Coordinator for our California Actors Workshops, the Ashland Shakespeare Seminar and the Sally Ride Science Camps for Girls.
