Education Unlimited - academic summer camps and pre-college summer programs

At Caltech and MIT we offer special day-only sessions of the Sally Ride Science Camp. These programs feature a convenient 5-day schedule, with classes from approximately 9am to 5pm each day. Please note that due to the program’s shorter duration, students at the program participate in a truncated version of the curriculum offered at overnight sessions.

Science Majors Each girl will choose a Science Major that will be the focus of her morning classes.

4th - 6th Grade Campers choose from Intro to Marine Science and Intro to Engineering Majors.

7th - 9th Grade Campers choose from Marine Science and Astronomy Majors.

Students in these majors will participate in hands-on activities, such as building rockets, robots, and marine habitats.

Enrichment Activities in the afternoons give girls an opportunity for informal science learning, as well as leadership and problem-solving training, through workshops, experiments, and recreational activities. Students will also attend a mid-program excursion to a local science venue, and meet many new friends.

Sally Ride Science Camps encourage girls’ interests in science by giving them hands-on science learning and activities in an environment that is designed to be supportive, enriching, and – most importantly – fun! Education Unlimited® has partnered with Sally Ride Science, founded by America’s first woman in space, to provide innovative science programs for girls entering grades 4 through 9. These unique camps provide girls an opportunity to explore science, technology, and engineering while doing fun science experiments for kids on an actual college campus.

The Staff at Sally Ride Camps is made up of a fantastic group of role models who are teaching and/or studying science full-time and are excited to share their passion with young people.
